The Planning Process
It can be a sad and difficult time for you, your family and your friends saying farewell to a loved one. As an independent funeral celebrant, I am here to help you to bid goodbye in your own special way by creating a unique ceremony.
Your personal service will reflect the life, beliefs, values, and memories of your loved one so that your farewells are delivered in the way you want them to be, in a ceremony that is a celebration of their life.
The service allows you the time to focus on the person who has died and is an opportunity to share memories with friends and family, to celebrate a life that’s been lived in a special and unique way.
What Happens Next?
- Informal meeting at your home or place of your choosing with family and friends
- Explanation of my role
- What you can expect on the day
- Your opportunity to tell me about the life of your loved one
- What you would like to be included in the ceremony
- Your choice of hymns, prayers, readings, poetry, music, photographs, and visual tributes
- Regular contact by email or telephone
- Conducting the funeral service on the day
Initial Meeting
We will arrange to meet at your home or other venue of your choice to start to plan the service you would like. By talking about your loved one, I can begin to create a picture of them including their family history, personality, career, interests, and beliefs. You can share special memories that you have, so that the service reflects their life in an uplifting, joyful and memorable way.
The Day of The Funeral
I will meet you and your guests at the venue, and although I’ll be leading the service you will have chosen whether you would like family members or friends to take part in the service too. They may be giving readings, reciting poems, playing music, singing, or deliver the eulogy.
Get in Touch
You may speak to me directly. Whilst I work predominantly in Sussex and Kent, I can work alongside any Funeral Director of your choice.
