Meet Jane Muddle – Your Funeral Celebrant
Since leaving University in 1982, I have had both a high-flying and varied career, starting with nearly 20 years in Pension Fund Management. A health scare and exhaustion resulted in me needing to change direction, so I left corporate life in 2001 to become self-employed, working in business at the Virgin Group with Richard Branson as my boss.
A Passion For Fashion – Bags To Make You Smile
In 2009, and in true Jane entrepreneurial spirit, I left the Virgin group to launch my own retail business, Madajazz, selling bags and hats imported from Madagascar, through Fairtrade principles.
Guiding Families Through Difficult Times
Never one to stand still, an opportunity came along at a funeral directors and having previously worked with the bereaved and had a role of supporting and guiding families through the most difficult and emotional of times, it seemed a perfect role. From there it seemed a natural progression for me to train to become a funeral celebrant, and return to being self-employed.
All The Skills To Deliver A Unique Service
In my role as a funeral celebrant, many of the skills that I’ve acquired along my career path are used. These include maturity, calmness and a reassuring manner as well as sensitive listening skills. I’m a member of the Association of Speakers Club, and regularly give talks on a variety of subjects. It’s been said that I have a natural aptitude to public speaking, a good voice and the confidence to deliver to any size of audience. These skills are complimented by excellent literary and writing skills and a smart appearance.
A Little Bit More
I live in East Sussex with my husband and am close to my grandchildren too. I thoroughly enjoy my working life, which takes me travelling throughout Sussex, Surrey and Kent. My spare time and leisure time include gardening, sewing, knitting and tapestry, walking, tennis and voluntary and fundraising work.
